Windows Instructions (Must be DESKTOP Version, Not Microsoft Store Version) (github):
1. Download latest Spotify (from official webiste) https://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/
2. Run Downgrade Batch File (Spotify version must be downgraded to 1.1.4.197.xxxxxxxxx) from here (downgrade script also disables auto-update)
3. a) Download and run install.bat (it is just a batch script, and manual instillation (see below) can be performed instead
3. b) [This Step Not Required if 3a is done] Manual Installation: drag and drop netutils.dll into the Spotify installation folder next to Spotify.exe (default location: %APPDATA%/Spotify)
4. Sign in to Spotify, and you're done!
PS: (To uninstall, simply remove netutils.dll from the spotify folder)
PS: (To re-enable automatic updates, open a command prompt AS ADMINISTRATOR and run (icacls "%localappdata%\Spotify\Update" /reset /T) (without the parenthesis)
Finikky Android Instructions
NGL this is finikky and there may be a better option (DM me if you know of one please)
There are many claimed apk's that work for this, but there is only one I know of that works for sure.
1. Download ACMarket
2. Search for Spotify and download and install the apk
3. Log in to Spotify and check Remember Me
4. Close Spotify
Then . . . Every time you want to use Spotify, to prevent it from crashing:
1. Turn off mobile data
2. Open Spotify
3. Turn on mobile data
4. Done
