Believe it or not I was 45 kg 3 years ago and now I'm 77 kg with 14% bodyfat so I would call it a win.
I started just with some easy workouts push-pull-legs (usually skipped tbh) :D anyway I invented a new method of training it's called HRRH.
Let's say you use the basic split Chest back legs arms and shoulders. You start  your workout with an easy warmup set and some warmup exercises after that you proceed with your maximal weight, this will improve strength and will increase rep count.
After the first set you go with an easier set I usually make 20% less weight than first set, the third set will be with 10% less weight than the 2nd. The last set will be a maximal set again try to use the same weight as in the first .
I'm using this technique since 3 months and I grew more than I did last year  [Image: sheepe.gif]

The struggle with low body mass or high body fat is real.
Please before going to the gym learn some metabolism biology/chemistry

How old were you 3 years ago?? 45 really isn't much

And I kinda disagree with your last sentence. I think starting to workout before learning about metabolism is better

I guess to build muscle, you need to progressively increase the resistance or weight you use. This can be achieved by adding more weight, increasing the number of sets and reps, or reducing rest times between sets. Personally, I also use sports simulators. It helps me stay in good shape and build my dream body at the same time. However, I couldn't figure out one of the simulators and how to install it for a long time, so luckily I found the ProForm manual that helped me with that.
