No.  Vitamin C may decrease the change you get it (by strengthening your immune system) but it will NOT treat it once you are infected.

Vitamin C can improve your simptoms but you still need vaccine to have a success in treatment.

Is this a joke?

No, Vitamin C does nothing besides boost your immune system by giving your body more Vitamin C which helps in certain aspects. It can't protect you by itself.
