Don't forget that they're just people like me and you. Try not to put them on a pedestal above everyone else. Talk to them like you would talk to other guys and if you come off as weird or awkward that's okay too. There's nothing interesting about being "normal".

Try to find any little ways you can become closer to the person. even sitting next to them in class can help, just try not to smell though..
