I don't get why we try to limit leeching.

Aren't forums suppose to be about sharing ideas, work and discussing issues? 
Yes, most newbies come here just to take combolists, configs and proxies but what's the point of sharing it if we're limiting it?
If you're annoyed that people are just taking your stuff then why upload it in the first place?
I know the mods here are trying to make the forums more active by encouraging new user to contribute (it's working) 
but most people who post threads were already planning to and others who doesn't wanna post they just leave the community.
Reply with your opinions, I'm interested in others view.

I don't think it's gonna stop if they allow "leeching", there's still sellers, buyers, frequent configs/combolists uploaders, etc.

Yeah, you got a valid point here.
Back then, LeakForums' administration removed "leeching sections" such as Leaks; Cracks, Coding, [...] to make the forums unattractive to any leechers, which worked as intended.
But I understand the principle Cracked.to is following, which is to have it growing.
If people take something, they are expected to give something back in return, which makes the forum more attractive to people who are in need of the exact thing someone just posted.

Well for me, I lurk around a forum for a while until I decide if I want to be apart of it or not. If I do, I would buy a lifetime membership and continued to leech all I want or try to make new friends because it's COVID19 and I'm just bored now so. Posting is always nice.
But leeching is normal, limiting it because the forum doesn't want you to just take the contents without thanking people who are sharing it.
Imaging yourself, you helped others but you don't get any appreciation back. Do you think that's fair?

Plus the fact that you have to register and comment before you see the content limits the amount of people that'll get it. (Not everybody will do it, many will just leave)

Therefore giving more to the ones on the forum.

Also, if one registers and comments to get it, there is a bigger chance he is gonna stick to the forum.

Simple as that.
