Increase the size limit for the profile's background image

The maximum file size is 1000 KB.

Was being asked by customers to create animated profile background images. Because the width has to be at least 1000px, the size of the file will be at least 1.000+ KB with the lowest quality and short animations (like 2 seconds)

I'm sure (if others agree, ofc) that this thing could be easily implemented.

i did that for my postbit gif lmao

It won't do the trick for bigger images, especially for those wider than 1000px, longer than 5 sec and with some cute animations. The quality would be broken as GIF supports 256 colors; reducing the size means reducing the colors.

That's great. Most of the images are 1000px + so it could be a great addition. There are a lot of nice images out there that could be used as a background and they of course exceed the 1000px limit, so it's a shame that we can't put those to use. Admittedly, on different forums the limit is different, there are ones that don't allow images that are bigger than 300kb, so this is even worse. Usually, in different cases, I use a platform to increase image resolution or to decrease it, depending on what I need. So, it's up to you, but we'd love that.

+1 yes pls do. I made my own animation and the size was around 5mb. i managed to just reduce it under 1000kb but the quality of the image was just meh. But it might be that it increase site loading times significantly.
