"Knock off GOT"

Yeah, because everything set in a medieval fictional setting is now a "knock off" of GoT  /s

The Witcher books were first released in the early 90's(about 92 to 93).  The first Game of Thrones book was released in about 1996.

The first Witcher game was released in about 2001 to 2002ish

Witcher 2 came out in May 2011

Game of Thrones premiered in 2010.

The Witcher series is an adaptation of the first books(mainly the one with the short stories) and does kind of fail because they cut a bunch of important stuff to slim everything down because of they way they are doing the timelines{especially Yennifer's as a lot of her story in the show is set about 30 or so years before Geralt's and Ciri's and is completely original for the show  Here's a good video explaining.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6I4d09o4Ao)

But a Game of Thrones knock off, it is not.

Game of Thrones with its politics and intrigue isn't really unique, it's just the most popular thing people think of when media like that comes to mind.  The show itself toned down a lot and even the books are based off of real life events that are just as crazy if not more so.

You can read up on almost anytime and anyplace in human history and I will GUARANTEE you that there will be so much politics, intrigue, war, battles, general fighting, and crazy shit that Game of Thrones looks like a bunch of kids playing LARP in comparision.
