W-a-a-y back in February 2020 when the word "Covid" was relatively new to the world's vocabulary, the series "Hunters" dropped on Amazon Prime Video.  David Weil, a showrunner from the unique 2021 sci-fi series "Invasion" on AppleTV+, is also the showrunner on this.  And Jordan Pelle is an executive producer.

Season 2 dropped on January 13, 2023, almost three years since season 1.  I want to recommend this show.

It's set in the late-1970s in New York. Logan Lerman stars as Jonah. A certain crime takes place that ultimately leads Jonah to Meyer Offerman, played by Al Pacino. That leads Jonah to a secret band of Nazi hunters fighting against a secret bunch of Nazis. The rag-tag group of Nazi hunters includes Josh ("How I Met Your Mother") Radnor. Each of them has a specialty. Jerrika ("Grey's Anatomy") Hinton is there as an intrepid FBI agent, because a show like this needs one of those.

It's dramatic and it's violent.  But it's also a successful dark comedy.  It's easy to know who to cheer for LOL. Lena Olin plays a villain known as "The Colonel" and I won't tell you her actual name on the show. Pacino TBH is phoning it in here and there, but even 3/4s of a Pacino is better than none at all. And the 1970s art direction, and costuming is bright and fun.

Think of it a little like "The Boys from Brazil" meets "The Umbrella Academy."

If this review is useful to you, please consider giving me a like.  I hope you enjoy "Hunters."
