Using UID to @Mention in Thread

When you mention @SRoy, then after a while if the user changes name, then people don't know who the guy is cuz the name doesn't link to the account.
Instead, make it so people can use UID numbers @436242 to mention people and it'd automatically show the person name instead of the number and would always link to that person.
Kinda like how the Sellix link shows the GUI Sellix page when a Sellix link is posted on the ShoutBox marketplace.

Well concept is cool. but how we will remember uid ?

name are easy to remember not numbers... and as of now there are almost 1.8 million uid account registered in forum..

Still when u change name, people can visit your profile in 1 case.

for e,g:-

Your profile url is :- C.to/Sroy

and u changed name to:- c.to/sroyxd


so now when people visit :- C.to/Sroy they will be redirected to your profile.

but if someone else take your name Sroy.. they they wont redirect to your profile.. But until name has not been taken by some another profile u can always get redirected from your old name to new profile.

You're misunderstanding, while writing the thread the person @SRoy hasn't changed their name, so anyone can check my profile rn and see the uid. Later if I change my name then it'll be useful. The uid will always show my current name.
