Dropshipping is still alive, and can be much profitable but you need to know how to properly advertise your store and obviously have a winning product, you may need a lot of testing and a bit of budget in order to find a profitable niche/product.
Can't say that it's easy to make it your main job but if your product has success you can proceed to brand it and start selling in private label (you will need contacts with the suppliers for custom branding and the ability to fulfill big orders which usually also ends up in price-cuts).
A small tip I can give you is, keep an eye on TikTok (not necessarly for paid advertising), you can obtain a HUGE organic traffic from there for basically free for how easy is to get viral on there.
